My mission is to show you the healing side of exercise and the environment needed to gain its benefits, leading you to a place where enjoying health is the same as enjoying life. This is what inspired me to create the process that makes up The Healing Art of Exercise. Working with alternative and traditional health practitioners has been humbling and immensely insightful. With each new health practice I interact with, I am struck by how the body navigates life's challenges, as well as how the body expresses itself based on mindset, movement, and a person's experience. This has fascinated me to the point where developing an approach using all these new perspectives from my long-time passion for fitness, was my only possible outcome.
Simply put there are two versions of health. Let's call the first one immediate health: "I am not sick right now, I have no pain right now, I am not stressed to the max." Most people can agree with this kind of health. The second kind is sustainable health. This is a high level of health and the type most people think they have achieved; however, they are usually still experiencing only immediate health. Sustainable health is gained from a different level of understanding and is based on changing your environment so that health is a bi-product of how you live. Being healthy, active, and happy should not be an effort. You can probably tell by now that we are not just in the business of changing bodies or changing minds; we are in it to change lives and through that, to change our community.
